About Me

Hi! I am Rebecca

Before I became a UX designer,

Before I became a UX designer,

I worked in the F&B industry as an assistant pastry chef and a hawker selling prawn noodle, where I learned that taste is deeply subjective and every customer’s preference is unique. These experiences taught me to embrace diverse needs with empathy and curiosity—constantly asking, "How can I produce something that satisfies my customers?" This mindset has become the cornerstone of my approach in everything I do.

Later, in recruitment marketing at the Defence Science Technology Agency and the Ministry of Education, I honed my ability to understand what truly resonated with users. Whether crafting messaging for scholarships, teaching careers, or kindergarten positions, user research was key to identifying the platforms and narratives that engaged my audience. Transitioning into talent management further sharpened my skills as I navigated complex stakeholder needs and delved into users’ career goals, motivations, and frustrations.

Why product design?

Why product design?

I’ve always loved creating—whether it’s baking, cooking, or sewing, I find joy in bringing ideas to life and refining them until they are what I want to accomplish. There’s a deep sense of fulfillment in making something from scratch, and I want to channel that creativity into designing products that truly add value to people’s lives. Product design allows me to merge creativity with problem-solving, transforming ideas into meaningful experiences.

My strengths include: User Research, Prototyping, UX Copywriting, Information Architecture, Usability Testing, and Figma.

Where can you find me when I’m not working?
