About Me

Hi! I am Rebecca

A UX designer with a unique journey shaped by experiences in kitchens and the public sector.

My time in F&B—as an assistant pastry chef and a hawker—taught me resilience and the importance of empathy and curiosity in meeting diverse needs. I constantly asked, “How can I create something that truly serves the user?” This mindset now drives my user-centered design approach.

At the Defence Science and Technology Agency and Ministry of Education, I led digital transformation to streamline workflows, using user research to align needs with business goals. In recruitment marketing and employer branding, I leveraged user research and UX writing to craft targeted messaging that attracts top talent. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders in large organizations also strengthened my stakeholder management skills.

Why Product Design?

My work experiences sparked my passion for improving user experiences, which led me to pursue a UX design bootcamp where I completed end-to-end projects and gained proficiency in tools like Figma.

Outside of work, I have always loved creating—whether it’s baking, cooking, or sewing. I find joy in making something from scratch and iterating until my vision comes to life. Product design allows me to combine my creativity and problem solving to develop solutions that truly add value to people’s lives.
